It's no secret endurance is important to me. As an educator and consultant, it's my core mission. Essentially, endurance plays a pivotal role in various aspects of life, contributing significantly to personal growth, success, and overall well-being. A couple that come to mind in terms of the reasoning of this post series about enduring within the artificial intelligence frontier (in terms of education) include . . .
Achieving Goals: Many worthwhile goals require perseverance and resilience. Endurance helps individuals stay committed and overcome obstacles along the way. Whether it's in academics, career pursuits, or personal development, the ability to endure challenges is essential for progress.
Career Success: In the professional world, endurance is often key to success. It allows individuals to withstand the pressures, setbacks, and demands of their careers. Those who can persevere through challenges tend to excel and achieve their long-term career aspirations.
Personal Growth: Endurance contributes significantly to personal growth and self-improvement. It enables individuals to push beyond their comfort zones, embrace discomfort, and take on new challenges. This continual growth is essential for self-development.
Leadership and Decision-making: Endurance is a quality often admired in leaders. Leaders who exhibit endurance inspire confidence, navigate uncertainties, and make steadfast decisions even in challenging situations.
In essence, endurance is not merely about enduring hardships; it's about the ability to persist, grow, and thrive despite challenges, ultimately leading to personal development and success in various facets of life . . . in this case, the educational frontier.
There's no shortage of artificial intelligence applications currently, and the pool to choose from is growing by the minute. For the purpose of this post, we will focus on creating additional content with the use of Magicschool.ai.
Magicschool.ai promises to help educators save time, by automating the task of lesson planning. This tool is already being utilized in real classrooms, with powerful grading functionality, and adaptive feedback for individual learning needs. It also offers educators AI-powered tools to proofread and summarize text using generative AI, similar to ChatGPT.
I'm going to go at this post from the perspective of me! My favorite thing about teaching (besides the kids obviously) is the creation aspect. I love the chance to create things in hopes of inspiring my teenage students.
So, I've played with Magicschool.ai a multitude of times. Now, there are many things to explore and play with here. For our purposes, we're going to focus on lesson design. To me, from the lesson creation standpoint, at this point in its cycle, it's average at best. To others, it may be the holy grail. It all depends on who you are personally as an educator, and what you're striving for. As I've said in previous posts, I love to create. For me, the lesson creation component of Magicschool.ai at this point is a solid brainstorming session to organize your thoughts on where you'd like to proceed with your learning experiences.
Would I simply print off what Magicschool.ai produces for my students? Umm...no. It has no soul. Remember, in all these posts I say WORK WITH AI TO CREATE GREATNESS; DON'T LET IT CARRY YOU. If you keep letting things carry you (so to speak), then soon, they will carry you making your job/occupation obsolete. So, show it that IT NEEDS YOU TOO!

*THIS PORTION IS KEY! Work with artificial intelligence to make something special together. Make it personal. Give it life. Make it memorable. Use it as a teammate, NOT AS A CRUTCH!

By using Magicschool.ai as a brainstorming template regarding character development, instead of simply disseminating its output to my students, I WORK WITH IT and create something worth doing and with a soul. In this case, my students are focusing on 'Death' as a character, in The Book Thief.

As shown, there is nothing inherently wrong with the lesson design output of Magicschool.ai; however, place yourself in the position of your students. If you would be motivated and engaged with its suggestions, carry on and run with it. However, in my humble opinion, Magicschool.ai lesson design is a great brainstorming tool, from which you can allow the creative educator within you to run wild and create something special!
Step 5 - Reflect
*Reflection is perhaps the most important step in this entire process. Reflection is crucial for personal growth, learning, and development. It involves taking time to contemplate, analyze, and evaluate experiences, thoughts, actions, or situations. Reflect on this experience, to extract meaningful lessons and insights. By examining what worked well and what didn’t, you can gain a deeper understanding of future creations, enabling you to make more informed decisions in the future.
